What is the Process for Window Installation

10 Steps to a New Window:

  1. Measure the existing window
  2. Determine the interior and exterior style
  3. Prep the area!
    • Make sure wall hangings furniture etc. Are moved away from the area
    • Put down drop cloths and cover nearby furniture with plastic
    • Confine the area if necessary with plastic and zip walls
  4. Remove the existing trim from inside
  5. Remove exterior trim to expose nailing flange
  6. Remove window 
  7. Install new flashing to ensure a watertight installation
  8. Install the new window
  9. Level, shim, and insulate
  10. Install new interior and exterior trim when applicable
  11. Clean up all work-related debris
